HDMI not detected when using Intel Graphics (Optimus)

I’m running Ubuntu 16.10 on my Kaby Lake Razer Blade, together with the latest NVIDIA drivers (378). If I switch to Intel Graphics in the NVIDIA control panel, the OS won’t detect the HDMI port on the laptop, and therefore my external monitor won’t work. Obviously, it works in Windows.

I’m guessing the port is directly connected to the GTX 1060 and that the NVIDIA driver doesn’t currently support forwarding it to the Intel Graphics? Am I right? Is there any work being done on this?

I have posted my xrandr output with and without the NVIDIA card being chosen here:
