CUDA on GeForce GTX 1050 Notebook?

From the NVIDIA CUDA capability page I see that the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 GPU Notebook version is not CUDA capable, while the Desktop version is. Can someone briefly explain why? Is there some workaround to make CUDA work for the Notebook version too?

The notebook version is CUDA compatible. Sometimes the page doesn’t get updated right away when new GPUs are released.

All NVIDIA GPUs manufactured since 2008 are CUDA capable.

Really? But when i tried to install CUDA Toolkit 8.0, I got this warning:

This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware. …

Is that really okay?

This has been covered in many previous threads. The CUDA Toolkit installer does not recognize the newer cards, but as long as you have the latest driver installed for your hardware and do not downgrade the driver with the one included by the toolkit, it will work fine.

Hi
I have the same problem, what can i do to install CUDA on this hardware ???
if i continue the installation, is cuda work probably ??
