Nsight 5.3 / Visual Studio 2017 Partially Installed?

Hey guys,

I just installed Nsight 5.3 so that I can fully switch to VS2017.
The installation process completes succesfully, but in VS2017 I’m not able to open any CUDA solutions.
When I try to open them I get the following error while loading the project file:
The imported project “C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2017\Community\Common7\IDE\VC\VCTargets\BuildCustomizations\CUDA 8.0.props” was not found. Confirm that the path in the declaration is correct, and that the file exists on disk.

Also, when I try to create a new Solution, there is no CUDA project option like there was in VS2015.
However, the Nsight tab in the top toolbar is there.

I already reinstalled both VS2017 and Nsight without success.

Hardware:
Dell XPS 15 9560 (GTX1050)

Software:
Windows 10.0.15063
Visual Studio 2017 Community Edition (Version 15.2 (26430.15) Release)
NSight 5.3.0.17162
Driver 384.76

Hi,

AFAIK, cuda 8.0 doesn’t support vs2017, there is no vs2017 addon in cuda 8.0, cuda 9.0 will soon be released and it fully supports vs 2017.

Best Regards
Harry

Thanks Harry,

It’s confusing that Nsight 5.3 supports VS2017 but CUDA itself does not (yet).

I guess I’ll just have to wait.

Kind regards,
Mathijs

Hi

It’s really confusing, actually nsight and cuda visual studio addon are two different things.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
