no link to download cuDNN v6 or v6.1

Hi folks,

I was trying to install the latest TensorFlow which requires cuDNN v6 or v6.1. However I didn’t find the latter on Nvidia website (both v7 and v5 are provided though). Any help?

Thanks!

If you follow the steps I listed here:

You will see the following download link sections available:

NVIDIA cuDNN is a GPU-accelerated library of primitives for deep neural networks.

Please check your framework documentation to determine the recommended version of cuDNN.
If you are using cuDNN with a Pascal GPU, version 5 or later is required.

cuDNN v6 is definitely there and available.

Many thanks, txbob!

I thought the download link was for v7 only, and the archieve page (cuDNN Archive | NVIDIA Developer) doesn’t contain v6.

https://developer.nvidia.com/compute/machine-learning/cudnn/secure/v6/prod/8.0_20170307/cudnn-8.0-windows10-x64-v6.0-zip

The steps listed above don’t work, as they send you to the same landing page for cuDNN 7.
The link posted by ‘87199263’ does work, although it is for cuDNN 6.0, not cuDNN 6.1.
Does anyone have a link for 6.1?

Can someone from NVidia update the archive page (cuDNN Archive | NVIDIA Developer) to include versions of cuDNN 6? Since that is what is (currently) supported by Tensorflow, lots of people are going to have the same problem.

cudnn v6 (not v6.1) is available exactly as I described in my comment #2 above. I just checked it again.

Go to developer.nvidia.com
login
click on Deep Learning SDK
click on download deep learning software
click on cudnn
click on download
click the checkbox to agree to the terms and conditions
click on “Download cuDNN v6.0 (April 27, 2017), for CUDA 8.0”
then you will see the choices I listed in comment 2 above.

Thank you txbob. I found it

I’ve found the cudnn v6.0, but I also need the cudnn v6.1. Does anyone know where I can find it?

+1 cudnn v6.1. Were is it ? i need it for TensorFlow

I would suggest you put in a request to the Tensorflow people to support the currently shipping version of CUDNN.

Same here need v6.1 for TensorFlow, please help!

Thanks
Gary

Does 6.0 not work with Tensorflow? I see cudnn64_6.dll needs to be installed – I was assuming 6.0 is good enough.

Go to https://developer.nvidia.com/rdp/cudnn-download, login, check ‘I Agree To the Terms of the cuDNN Software License Agreement’ and all versions of cuDNN will be listed.

For TensorFlow 1.4 and Windows 10, you can use ‘cuDNN v6.0 (April 27, 2017), for CUDA 8.0’:
https://developer.nvidia.com/compute/machine-learning/cudnn/secure/v6/prod/8.0_20170307/cudnn-8.0-windows10-x64-v6.0-zip

The install guide:
https://developer.nvidia.com/compute/machine-learning/cudnn/secure/v6/prod/Doc/cudnn_install-txt

I think the logic of this web is litter disorder because it difficult to find a wanted CuDnn (5.1, linux)

The cuDNN archive list indeed does not contain cuDNN 6.x @ cuDNN Archive | NVIDIA Developer
However, it can be found at this URL: https://developer.nvidia.com/rdp/cudnn-download
Observe the different URLs, the cudnn-download one works fine. Nvidia should clean up their links…

FYI the TensorFlow Windows installation instructions simply had a typo; we had meant to recommend cuDNN v6.0 all along. Sorry to have caused confusion.

We’re fixing our installation instructions now. For more details see Installation says to use cuDNN v6.1, but NVIDIA only offers 6.0 and 7.0.4 · Issue #14805 · tensorflow/tensorflow · GitHub

Thank you.
The TensorFlow instructions did mislead many people.

Cheers
Gary
