which NVIDIA release _officially_ supports build with linux >= 4.14.11?

I’m never clear why NVidia constantly fails to provide any sort of timely comments re: KNOWN & REPORTED problems building its drivers.

I see today that BETA 390.12 is released,

Current long-lived branch release: 384.98 (x86 / x86_64 / ARM)

Current official release: 387.34 (x86 / x86_64 / ARM)

Current beta release: 390.12 (x86 / x86_64 / ARM)

again, no mention in release notes of 4.14.11 compat.

Which, if any, releases have, or predictably soon will have, a reliable build with kernel 4.14.11?

Or are we, once again, to piecemeal assemble patches from unofficial online comments here and elsewhere?

So far, none of the patches I’ve attempted work for any NVidia release with kernel 4.14.11 – all crash on build (investigating …)

I’m still able to build 384.98 & 387.34 for kernel 4.14.10.

But, with kernel updates flowing in for latest CVE (meltdown, etc) mitigation, kernel version holds/downgrades aren’t going to be an option for long.

Some communication from NVidia would be nice …

No success with 4.14.11.

With today’s release of kernel:

stable: 4.14.12 2018-01-05

nvidia 390.12/beta builds cleanly, without patching
