Can't run Ubuntu with GTX 1060

Hello,

I have an Windows 10 installation and I want to have a dual boot for Ubuntu.

I have an GTX 1060.

  1. I install Unbuntu 16.04
  2. I install driver for nvidia : nvidia-390

After that I have a problem with a login loop (when I correctly login, the login page show again!).

I do all the advices found on internet but no fix action works for me.

Can you please attach nvidia bug report as soon as issue hit? I think you can get it via ssh session. Please try moving .Xauthority from home directory. This is Ubuntu issue and check with Canonical.

Yes I already did all the stuff recommended in the video and forums (askubuntu, stackoverflow and Nvidia forum).

Okay. Are you able to start X with startx or xinit or Xorg commands from the command line? Can you please attach nvidia bug report as soon as issue hit? I think you can get it via ssh session. Also test with 396 driver.

I didn’t see any nvidia related error in the log. I think some part in missing in logs like dmesg, journalctl and end of nvidia-bug-report. Please attach nvidia-bug-report to your existing post.

Also I think you have two VGA graphics devices. Please generate new xorg.conf for nvidia driver or add PCI bus id in Xorg configuration file. Option BusID “PCI:1:0:0” . or use comamnd nvidia-xconfig --busid=“PCI:1:0:0”

Now I have a purple screen when I launch Ubuntu :(
