Jetson nano cannot use the USB Device Mode

Hi,

I got the jetson nano yesterday. And I followed the Getting Started with AI on Jetson Nano Course at https://courses.nvidia.com/courses/course-v1:DLI+C-RX-02+V1/course/ to setup the configuration. When I was trying to
use the USB Device Mode connecting with my own PC with micro USB cable, I found I can’t go to 192.168.55.1:8888 using my own PC. And I tried different computers, they all don’t work! The cable works well with other devices, like phones and kindles. Can someone solve the problem for me?
Thank you!

Jing

Hi,
You need to modify it to IP address of your Jetson Nano.
Above comment is wrong. Please use the specific image as suggested in #8

Hi, I have the same issue. Can you tell more details? Modify it to which IP address? The course says it always the IP 192.168.55.1:8888
Thanks

I plugged the Jetson nano to monitor, and it shows booting up. And stopped on license agreement screen, which I think is right, and the micro SD image is good.

Hi xujing33689,

Are you using “NVIDIA DLI Jetson Nano SD Card Image”?
Download link: https://developer.download.nvidia.com/training/nano/dlinano_v1-0-0_image_20GB.zip

Thank you! I am using Jetson Nano Developer Kit SD Card Image as the course says. So I should NVIDIA DLI Jetson Nano SD Card Image instead of that one?

Thank you for your reply! Can you tell me what ip address should I modify? I checked the ip addresses of my own pc and jetson nano. PC has the ip address of 192.168.55.100, and jetson nano has 192.168.55.1. I also tried to disconnect all the internet connections to pc and jetson nano except the USB connection between the pc and jetson nano. It also doesn’t work!

Hi xujing33689,

Yes, you need use this one image.
In course “Write Image To The MicroSD Card” section, the step 1 has mention:
1. Download the NVIDIA DLI Jetson Nano SD Card Image , and note where it was saved on the computer.

Thank you so much for your help! It works now!

Dear all,

I download https://developer.download.nvidia.com/training/nano/dlinano_v1-0-0_image_20GB.zip and use balena etcher to write *.zip file into a 64 GB sdcard at my Windows 10 environment.
I follow the Headless Device Mode Setup. I put a jumper at J48 and power led is on.

My host is Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS

I still can put Jetson Nano (dev kit) into recovery mode and issue command to flash it from a host. However it stuck at

Writing partition APP with system.img
[ 76.9557 ] [..... ] 010%
Error: Return value 1
Command tegradevflash --pt flash.xml.bin --storageinfo storage_info.bin --create
Failed flashing t210ref.

How to determine whether the Jetson Nano is boot correctly? Because when I put a monitor, a mouse, a keyboard → its screen blank and nothing happens at all.

Thank you very much in advance.

Warmest Regards,
Suryadi

Hi suryadi,

The #10 issue fix? Can you flash image now?
Thanks!

Dear Carolyuu,

Yes I can use balena etcher for both image (Jetpack 4.2.1 and DLI Nano) and run it on my friend’s nano.

My first Jetson Nano failed to boot (Serial Number 042(1219)046135). However, I still have not receive any email regarding my request for RMA (I have chat with support two days ago). Here is my Reference Number (if needed in future) for this particular case 190813-000019.

Is there any email that I can contact regarding this RMA?

Thank you very much.

Warmest Regards,
Suryadi

Hi suryadi,

Does anyone contact with you about RMA?
Thanks!

Dear Carolyuu,

Yes, I got good conversation for my RMA and they arranged for it.
Thank you very much.

Warmest Regards,
Suryadi

I have the same problem with my jetson nano 2gb version, since it is a 2gb version the os provided in this forum does not work for me.
My problem is :
When I connect the jetson nano usb type b port to my laptops usb port for the first time it works . But if I disconnect the cable and connect it again it dosent recognise my laptop , I have to reboot my laptop again and again and then only the jetson nano recognises it. And sometimes it dosent recognise my laptop at all.

Hi akshaygugnani15,
