error installing CUDA drivers on Quadro FX 360M

Hi,
I have Dell Precision M4300 laptopn with nVidia Quadro FX 360M.
According to nVIDIA, that graphic card supported by CUDA:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda_learn_products.html

But when I tried to install CUDA drivers I got error:
“The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware.”

I’m running Windows XP SP2 x64 and downloaded the latest CUDA drivers for x64.

Can someone assist me?

Thanks

Hi,
I’ve found that post regarding to my issue:
http://forums.nvidia.com/lofiversion/index.php?t57346.html

but it hasn’t resolved my problem.

Can someone assist me? any ideas?

The trick is to add the right INF file for your adapter. This is pretty easy once you know the trick.

Visit this site which always keeps a big list of INF files and drivers (and install instructions).

Why the official nvidia driver releases don’t have all the compatible adapters listed is a mystery.

Thanks for the reply.
I’ve found and installed the driver with the modded INF file.

now, still i cannot install CUDA drivers to run CUDA apps.
I still got error when trying to install CUDA drivers (see attached file).
What should i do next?

the graphic card is: nVidia Quadro FX 360M
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_042D&SUBSYS_01FF1028

Thanks

it’s working now.
I’ve downloaded the modified INF from laptopvideo2go.com and downloaded the CUDA drivers from nVidia website.
Then i’ve replaced the original INF with the modified and then installed successfully.

I was faced with the same problem on a Dell Precision M4300, XP SP3.

The solution I found does not need getting a special *.inf file that others have had to do in the past.

Unload the exisiting Dell drivers by going to Start>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs etc. When you are asked whether to remove settings, click “No” that way your desktop settings are preserved.

Download and install the 258.96 driver from http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook-winx...hql-driver.html.

The CUDA software I have now works and I have not noticed any bad effects by using a non-Dell driver.

Hope this helps someone else.

Thanks Paul.

I’ll try that.

Thanks Paul.

I’ll try that.

Guys,

same situation, same problem…
my OS is WinXP Pro SP3 32-bit
video card is Quadro FX 360 M, driver version 186.81, CUDA driver version 286.19
When I tried first to install CUDA driver this error (see attached .jpg) occured. After reading help on laptopvideo2go.com I downloaded driver+.inf file from their website and installed as it is written in “have-disk” method. But same error continues to appear.

Does anybody have any suggestions on this?

BTW, I’ve just updated driver version to 266.58, as it was proposed by Paul Maconochie, but this didn’t help anyway:-(

Have you tried the website Forums - LaptopVideo2Go Forums ??

I’ve downloaded the drivers for my video adapter at the time from there and it worked for me with developing CUDA on that laptop.

Hello, itsik11

I’ve tried downloading driver version 186.81 + .inf file from website you’re pointing, but this didn’t help. I didn’t try to download 266.58 from there (BTW, .inf is missing currently there), do you think that will help?

P.S. all .inf’s seem to be gone offline for now… - I tried to download some of them.

yeah, try downloading version 266.58.
