Student Internship Positions (Research Organization)
Siemens Corporate Research, a division of Siemens Corporation (SCR), a subsidiary of Siemens AG with over $60 billion worldwide in sales, conducts applied and exploratory research in selected areas to offer innovations that strengthen and maintain the competitive advantage of Siemens companies. Its scientific efforts contribute to the rapid advancement of technology both in the United States and worldwide. The company has global responsibility for research in the key areas of imaging and visualization, software engineering, and multimedia/video technology.

We are currently seeking highly motivated Graduate Students (preferably in Ph.D. programs) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics or related fields for Student Internship Positions of 3 months or longer duration in the Imaging and Visualization department. The Student Internship is for Summer 2012 but could continue longer or start earlier.

You will have the opportunity to apply and expand your knowledge in a challenging problem-solving research environment. You will be encouraged to think out of the box, be innovative and find solutions to real-life problems.

Candidates should have excellent skills (and experience) in C++, OpenGL, CUDA, OpenCL. The candidates will participate in research oriented projects, and develop research prototypes in Scientific Visualization / Scientific Computing. The candidate will get an opportunity to publish the research findings in a peer-reviewed conference or journal. Candidates should have good knowledge in Computer Graphics, Scientific Visualization, and/or Scientific Computing.

Duration of the internship: 3-12 Months
