64 bit libEGL.so missing in NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-331.67.run

What do you guys smoke at Nvidia!? Do you do any checks after building driver packages!?

Driver NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-331.67.run does not contain 64 bit libEGL.so. There simply is no /usr/lib64/libEGL.so after installing.

I could not believe this. I extracted 331.67 and I see there really is only the 32 bit libEGL.so within the package!

If you want 64bit EGL install 337.12, the 331 branch does not have 64bit egl-support.

I´m sorry. My words were too offending.

If KDE needs 64 bit libEGL.so this means KDE depends on EGL? I thought EGL is mainly used by embedded stuff?

I think it would be nice to get notes from the nvidia installer about such issues when installing the driver. The nvidia installer could educate the user about missing libs or things that may prevent from starting the KDE or Gnome desktop.

If you want to use the 331 branch, I’d suggest installing and older version of mesa from your distribution.

In the case of arch it would be mesa-10.0.1 since it contains the EGL library.
