(2) GeForce 210, 4 displays, only first GPU recognized using nvidia proprietary drivers

Running Mint 17.1 64bit Cinnamon

lspci -vv shows both cards but second card does not function / does not show up in nvidia-xconfig

(hardware known to be working as I am able to get 3 displays working running nouveau drivers but unsatisfactory 3d - also works in Windows 7)

Currently running NVIDIA UNIX x86_64 Kernel Module 304.125 driver

nvidia log script results in “NVIDIA: could not open the device file /dev/nvidia1 (Input/output error).”

(Log file attached)

Have had this problem for about a year now (Ubuntu 13.x and now 14.04, trying mint 17.1 now, same results) - would be willing to try different distribution, kernel, etc - really would love to see this hardware perform - I can’t say how much you help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you and best wishes

→ If you plan to no longer use the NVIDIA driver, you should make sure that no X screens are configured to use the NVIDIA X driver in your X configuration file. If you used nvidia-xconfig to configure X, it may have created a backup of your original configuration. Would you like to run nvidia-xconfig --restore-original-backup to attempt restoration of the original X configuration file? (Answer: No)

You can’t SLI those cards, plus if you could it’s limited to three displays in SLI.

If you want four monitors you need a single Kepler or Maxwell card that supports four outputs.

Three displays would be just fine - could you / someone possibly help me diagnose what I’m doing wrong?

Not entirely sure what I’m doing wrong (or if I need SLI?)

Ultimately what I want from a user-story perspective is:

3 monitors that can be traversed by the mouse on the desktop. Windows can be dragged from monitor 1, to 2, to 3.

Your help and input are greatly appreciated!

Will gladly send a paypal tip to whomever can solve this one (or to the charity of your choice).

Thanks!

(p.s. I am able to get three displays working in the above mentioned fashion with the Nouveau driver - but I would like to use the nvidia drivers for many reasons)

Do any developers by chance monitor this forum? Not sure where else to turn for guidance - any help would be greatly appreciated indeed.

Just freshening up this post - Does anyone have any idea? Can post any data requested - your help greatly appreciated (in advance, even!)

Still the same issue here - if anyone has any insight I’d greatly appreciate your help.

Much thanks
