[SOLVED] Jetson TK1 R21:: HDMI: No HDMI device connected

I’m trying to enable the HDMI output of the desktop, which I was able to see briefly before updating, but now after installing everything I need I find that the HDMI is not working.

dmesg has this message (repeated greatly):

There is infact an HDMI display connected (a Sony TV).

Additionally when I reboot the board, the kernel boot is visible on the screen. When it would normally switch over to Unity, it doesn’t show anything and the TV indicates that there is no signal.

I reflashed the board with R21.2.0 and I during the setup of the components I need, I think I found out why it was happening. My change to rc.local that I think I made, though I don’t know for sure anymore, disabled hotplug for HDMI.

This one looks somewhat interesting (sorry! many issues are obvious at first glance, this one isn’t…makes it interesting).

The first thing I notice is that this appears to be an R21.x. Is this correct? Which version exactly, R21.2? The kernel itself is not the mainstream kernel, the LOCALVERSION differs. I’m not sure what the LOCALVERSION is for the grinch kernels, but more specifically, was this working with a kernel update at some point, perhaps grinch? What were the updates which took place just prior to the monitor not showing?

I don’t see u-boot information, so is it correct this is using fastboot? If not, would it be possible to see the u-boot stage logged from serial console?

Because of the kernel looking like a different LOCALVERSION, what is “uname -r” and what is “ls /lib/modules”?

Finally, I see a USB hard drive or memory attached. Is any kind of SD card also attached? Is the USB hard drive needed for boot?

I’m assuming at this point that the issue was the hotplug disable of the HDMI on the R21.1.0 beta. That rc.local entry prevents seeing anything on the monitor.

I am having a similar issue, the system boots up goes to load X and all i get is a blank screen with a non blinking console cursor in the upper left corner. Any ideas? and yes libglx.so is OK

I assume this is a TK1, rather than TX1? Has it been flashed with any particular L4T version, and if it worked before, was there a software change? Regardless of any other questions, what is the exact cabling, complete with adapters?
