Haven’t done CUDA in several years.

Is there a free version of Visual Studio that includes the 64 bit version of the compiler?

I have a new Windows 8.1 64 bit laptop. You can only install 64 bit CUDA on it however I haven’t yet found an Express version of VS that includes the 64 bit C++ compiler.

Look for visual studio community edition. It is free for non-commercial use, and includes the 64-bit VS compilers. The Express versions do not include the 64-bit VS compilers.
