How to overclocking GTX 970 from command line with Nvidia driver >=346.47

I’ve set the relevant coolbits and I’m able to overclock with the Nvidia X Server Settings GUI. I want to overclock on start up and I need the relevant command line syntax for that. Web search told me that this can be done with

nvidia-settings -a GPUOverclockingState=1

However I get the following message:

DEPRECATED: The attribute 'GPUOverclockingState' is no longer supported.

I made an investigation with

nvidia-settings -query all | grep -i offset

but only the overvoltage offset options are displayed. The problem pertains to 346.47 and 349.16 as well. How do I overclock from command line with these latest drivers?

I’m also having this problem, running driver version 349.16.
