NVIDIA kernel module does not appear to be receiving interrupts generated by the NVIDIA GPU

Hello,
i’ve a problem with the nvidia driver:
I have two linux systems: the systems have the same kernel version but in the second one I’ve recompiled the kernel. Graphic support modules configuration is the same in both systems.
The problem: in the first system the driver works;in the second one the server X doesn’t start.

Anyone can help me?

Thanks in advance

After recompiling your kernel, you have even recompiled the nvidia kernel-module?
It doesn’t seem so from your X-log.

[ 34.214] (EE) NVIDIA(0): The NVIDIA kernel module does not appear to be receiving
[ 34.214] (EE) NVIDIA(0): interrupts generated by the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:2:0:0.
[ 34.214] (EE) NVIDIA(0): Please see Chapter 8: Common Problems in the README for
[ 34.214] (EE) NVIDIA(0): additional information.

Why don’t you see README?

It’s available at
http://http.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86_64/325.15/README/commonproblems.html

I have the same issue with my PCI GT610 card.

I have old motherboard with 4 PCI slots, internal videocard and external PCI Nvidia card Geforce GT610.

With 375.26 and 340 legacy drivers I have the same issue -

NVIDIA kernel module does not appear to be receiving
[1787075.089] (EE) NVIDIA(GPU-0): interrupts generated by the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:2:0:0.

no any interrupts for nvidia card ??

here is dmesg

http://paste.ubuntu.com/23740078/

my configuration is

amibios - 08.00.09 build date 09.30.05
cpu amd sempron 2800+ 1600 MHz
in bios I have choice Primary Graphics Adapter - PCI
motheboard based on chipset VIA VT8237

In Chapter 8. Common Problems I read about some advice

  • to use “NVreg_EnableMSI=0” option for nvidia module. I created nvidia.conf file in /storage/.config/modprobe.d and added the line options nvidia NVreg_EnableMSI=0. But it didn’t help. I still have the same issue with X starting.

Next solution from Nvidia is to use several boot kernel options for grub or LILO as

pci=noacpi don’t use ACPI for PCI IRQ routing
pci=biosirq use PCI BIOS calls to retrieve the IRQ routing table
noapic don’t use I/O APICs present in the system
acpi=off disable ACPI

I also tried several options, they didn’t help

Also I have put in different PCI slots my PCI card - didn’t help - I tried so with 375 driver

Is there any other advice ? Which nvidia driver is more appropriate for my configuration with PCI GT610 ?

I could manage to start X with legacy 304.134 drivers, but why with current NON legacy drivers I have issue described above ?
