Ubuntu 16.04 with drivers 340.96 and up (currently 367.18) spamming Xorg.0.log to huge sizes with mo

Since installing Ubuntu 16.04 and putting any working nVidia driver from 340.96 on up (currently 367.18) in service, the following messages repeat in Xorg.0.log and keep doing this until the computer is rebooted. Three monitors are connected via DFP-0, DFP-1, and DFP-3, no other monitors are present. Several cycles are shown to give an idea of frequency.

The last Xorg.0.log ended up at 176 MB before rebooting after installing driver 367.18.

Do any config setting(s) exist I can use to kill this logspam, or absent that is there some way to “lock down” the monitors and stop polling for presence?

I think not, you probably can’t fix these behavior by any means of work around. You better to stick with Ubuntu (tested) driver for a while as I already did. There is no need to test beta drivers on such complicated configurations as yours.
