Hairworks 1.2 'File Import Error' [3DS Max - Hairworks Viewer]

I downloaded Hairworks 1.2 a few days ago. I followed the tutorial for 3DS Max, but whenever I try to import the .apx file into Hairworks Viewer, a message pops up saying ‘File Import Error’.
It also won’t work for Unreal Engine.

I understand that this isn’t a lot to go on, but I honestly have no clue why it isn’t working.

Ive downloaded v1.2 today and have same problems described above. Any clue please ? in v1.1 is everything fine. Im exporting from max 2016 with this version of exporter - NVIDIA_HairWorks_For_Autodesk_3ds_Max_2016_64bit_1.1.11028.12472.msi
I guess Im getting this error because version of exporter 1.1 ? But unfortunatelly I cant find any exporter version 1.2

i have exact same problem but no one replies to this !! how else will we get this solved ?!!
