Hi,
I am trying to profile the encoder/decoder performance. I am using tegrastats for measuring the load.
I am not able to find any documentation that explains the fields reported in the tegrastats.
Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Thanks

Hi zeitgeist,
Regarding tegrastats, here is the details for your reference:
sudo ~/tegrastats
[sudo] password for ubuntu:
RAM 277/3854MB (lfb 700x4MB) SWAP 0/0MB (cached 0MB) cpu [0%,0%,0%,0%]@1912 EMC 0%@1600 AVP 5%@115 VDE 0 GR3D 0%@76 EDP limit 1912

EMC – external memory controller, bus%@MHz
AVP – audio/video processor, processor%@MHz
VDE – video decoder engine, %MHz
GR3D – GPU, processor%@MHz

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I have a couple of observations regarding the VDE. Should H264/H265 video decode result in increase in VDE stats?
When I run the gstreamer pipeline for video decode and playback, the VDE stats remain at 0.

Hi zeitgeist,
Pleas help to provide your system info, gstreamer pipeline and the tegrastats log, then we can do the further investigation.
Thanks
