Nsight says I have a non-nvidia GPU after anniversary update.

Since the anniversary edition update on Windows 10, nsight thinks my nvidia 980 is not an nvidia GPU. It says that some features are not enabled for non-nvidia GPUs or the basic windows display driver.

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled both nsight and my display driver and the problem persists. GeForce experience clearly shows I have the latest driver.

When I attempt to run and debug dx12 applications, it freezes on the first frame. Breaking in the debugger shows a bogus call stack.

Basically nsight is hosed. Has anyone had this problem before on win10?

Thanks.

Hi ZachBethel,

‘some features are not enabled for non-nvidia GPUS or the basic windows display driver’ should be some warning and not affect your usage generally.

Can we have your D3D12 application? We never saw that in some other samples like MSFT’s D3D12 samples, and some other D3D12 games.

Thanks
