A correlation between RAM and GPU problems on DDR4 Intel systems?

At approx. 2:40:26 Puget Systems CEO Jon Bach explains that Intel Skylake had proven to be fussy about the RAM chips it could use so that only Micron / Crucial and Samsung memory would deliver truly stable performance:

Given that DDR4-era Intel CPUs appear to effectively bridge the motherboard RAM with the first x16 PCIe graphics card slot, I wonder if some of the numerous GPU problems reported on this site and on forums.geforce.com aren’t related to the use of less than ideal DDR4 RAM brands.
